Our kids Education and their futures

The Ogre's bottom line is this: I’m not saying going to college is a bad idea. I’m simply saying that perhaps if we worried about getting an education prior to our 12th year of schooling, we wouldn’t need to worry about college (as a path to achieving some stability) at all.
Remember that line in The Matrix?
Neo: “Are you telling me I’m going to be able to dodge bullets?”
Morpheus: “I’m telling you that when you’re ready, you won’t have to.”
Indeed, you need to rethink everything, starting with conventional wisdom on what the path to success really is.

Get this: There is no specific path to happiness, obviously; we’re all different people. But you know, I heard something very, very interesting recently - something like, “There’s a KEY ingredient to happiness – FREEDOM. There are few absolutes. But this, I think, is one of them.

We can never be truly happy unless we’re FREE. And one thing is certain: most Americans are slaves, whether they know it or not. We’re slaves because the hand that lends is always above the hand that borrows. And we’re slaves because we remain ignorant and blinded by this, and by many other things that are happening around us every day. There's just a tremendous amount of apathy it seems all across this nation. Something we must take very seriously is EDUCATION. We also have to rethink the conventional path to success. We have to make education a top priority in both our lives and the lives of our children. But we have to rethink what and how we’re learning. And clearly, we have to consider that as we learn and develop a new awareness, we have a moral obligation to teach – to pass it on.

We need to all be critical thinkers and learn, as young children do, to ask why. Consider the answer to this question: Why are we continually lagging behind other countries with regard to educating our children, particularly in math and science?

Check out this link and really ponder that question.

Maybe it’s because of a preoccupation with getting the latest video gaming system or our kids fascination with Hanna Montana, High School Musical or the rest of the garbage that’s continually pumped out. Could it be that it’s actually part of some master plan? "The Man" is at work here, ladies and gentlemen. Think about the obvious dumbing down of America.
